Uniform

At Arnhem Wharf, we have thought carefully about our school uniform and have chosen it to be comfortable and practical for primary aged children and affordable for families. We have also aimed to provide some variation and choice as this is something that many parents said that they value.

Many items can be purchased in supermarkets and children’s clothes shops as well as from the Mapac website, which stocks the Arnhem Wharf logo items. These can also be purchased from the school office.

Sweatshirts and polo shirts with the school logo are available to purchase from the school or online from Mapac HERE.

All children should wear school uniform (with the exception of those in nursery, where it is optional).

The uniform consists of:

  • Trousers, skirts or pinafores - Grey or black.

  • Children in Reception and Key Stage 1 may wear jogging bottoms in plain grey or black as an alternative to trousers or skirts.

  • Polo shirts - White or yellow, with or without the school logo.

  • Sweatshirts - Navy or jade green, with or without the school logo.

  • Plain navy blue cardigans - May be worn as an alternative to a sweatshirt (NOT hoodies).

  • Leggings, tights and socks - Should be plain black, grey, navy or white.

  • Headscarves - Should be plain black, white, grey or navy and must be fastened securely.

  • Shoes - Should be plain black, white, grey or navy and should fasten securely with laces, Velcro or buckles.

  • Plain trainers are also acceptable.

  • Bookbags -  All children need a book bag. These are available from the school office or the Mapac website.

Summer

  • In warm weather, children may wear shorts in grey or black or checked summer dresses in blue, green or yellow.

  • Sun hats are also available.

Additional items for Nursery and Reception (EYFS):

In the Early Years, we encourage all children to have wellington boots and suitable all-weather outdoor clothes, as outdoor play happens all year round.

A spare set of clothes is also very useful in Early Years classes and these should be stored in a drawstring P.E. bag on the child’s peg.

For PE children will need:

For P.E. and dance lessons, children need shorts, leggings or jogging bottoms and a T-shirt (any colour is acceptable). They will also need plimsolls or trainers.

We encourage children to bring in their kits on Monday and take them home on Friday for washing.

For swimming children will need

  • A one piece swimming costume/swimming trunks (NOT shorts),
  • A swimming hat
  • A towel.

Drawstring bags for P.E. and swimming kit are available from the school office or the Mapac website.
